Agenda

6:00-6:30 Social

6:35-7:00, John Hebeler's Spotlight Series; Ontologies, The Myths, The Legends, The Realities

John has over 10 years experience working with with SMEs and ontologist and SMEs developing and deploying ontologies. He will draw on these experiences to offer perspectives on what rat holes to avoid, how to scope the effort and what should be taken into consideration when designing the architecture of an ontology.

7:00-8:00 Collaborative Ontology Development;

David Schaengold, Ontologist, Revelytix.

David will give an overview of how to organize communities of interests (COIs). These COIs most often include a variety of roles, skills and disciplines. When properly motivated and directed, they can become highly efficient teams operating under defined roles in controlled collaborations.

David and John will work with selected audience participants to show how SMEs, ontologist and executive stake holders work in simultaneous collaboration to insure accurate and comprehensive formal descriptions in the ontology and how that gets managed over time. This is sure to be fun considering the ontology we are developing is of our own Meetup Members.
